Die Kaapse Vou strek uit soos ’n liefdesbrief wat in klip en welige groen geëts is, ’n land waar Mediterreense hitte verstrengel raak met weelderige, dou-gekuste valleie voordat dit swig voor die woeste, droë asem van die Karoo se eindelose somers.
Dit is ’n plek van antieke wortels en nuwe-wêreld romantiek—toringpieke rys op as majestueuse wagte, wat die geheime van ’n landskap vashou wat terselfdertyd teer en ongetem is.
Vroeë seevaarders, wie se skepe deur die genadelose storms geteister is wat die Kaap van Storms sy gevreesde naam gegee het, het fluisterend vertel van hierdie wilde grens, waar die natuur se rou skoonheid en onverbiddelike krag in ’n ewige dans verstrengel is.
Omraam deur hierdie bergreekse neem ’n toevlugsoord vorm aan—’n hawe wat gespaar bly van die arktiese stormwinde wat die gekartelde kus gesel. 1. Flavour Enhancement: Stems can impart bitter flavours and tannins to the wine, so removing them helps achieve a smoother, more balanced taste.
2. Fermentation Efficiency: By destemming, we allow the grapes to ferment more evenly, ensuring that all those delicious sugars and flavours are extracted.
3. Quality Control: It allows winemakers to inspect the grapes for any imperfections, ensuring only the best fruit makes it into the fermentation process.
The destemming can be done by hand or with specialized machines, depending on the scale of production.
Once destemmed,
the grapes are ready for crushing and fermentation, setting the stage for that delightful glass of wine we all love! 🍷
