Today is World Nutella Day. Of course it’s Italian, anything so decadent and fabulous can only come out of Italy. It’s been around since 1964. We are going to celebrate by developing a cake recipe that incorporates Nutella. You can celebrate by liberally lathering Nutella on toast, croissants, flapjacks, waffles or pancakes this morning.
Fun facts about Nutella:
- Nutella is owned by the Ferrero family, who also make Ferrero Rocher chocolates
- French people really love Nutella. France reportedly eats a quarter of the world’s supply
- Ferrero uses 25% of the global hazelnut supply, about 50 hazelnuts are used for each jar.
