Did you know? Whiskey Creek is not just a name. It is a living, moving force that has been shaping this piece of land in The Crags, just outside Plettenberg Bay, long before we planted a single vine. The creek cools the air around our vines naturally, feeds centuries of mineral complexity deep into our soil, and creates our unique microclimate.

Lower temperatures. Higher natural acidity. Soils shaped by wild water and time.

That is why our wines carry real complexity and freshness with low sulphites and minimal intervention. The land does the work. Award winning winemaker Anton listens and guides it accordingly.

You weren’t supposed to find this wine.

We’re 20 minutes from Plettenberg Bay, in a valley called The Crags, where ocean mist rolls through sandstone and the vines grow in a cool climate nobody expected to produce wine this good.

But that’s exactly what happened. The soil is rich in minerals. The fruit develops slowly, with a freshness and a character you can’t manufacture. And our AWARD WINNING winemaker Anton Smal doesn’t try to. The terroir speaks. He simply guides it.

Natural wines. Low sulphites. Minimal intervention. No unnecessary sugar. No shortcuts.

We were the first to produce Pinotage in Plettenberg Bay. The first to make a Chenin Blanc Cap Classique on the Garden Route. And the first in South Africa to bottle a Pinotage-Chenin Rosè MCC.
Nobody told us to. We just believed the land had something worth saying. And people are starting to notice.

It has been a week, Plett.

300mm of rain. Trees down. Roads gone. Power out. Some of you lost more than that. We see you. We are with you.

But scrolling through these photos from the Wine and Bubbly Festival, just days before the storm hit, we are reminded of something important.

This place is more than a postcode. It is a feeling. It is strangers at a table who leave as friends. It is barefoot kids in the golden hour who do not care what time it is. It is glasses raised for no reason other than the fact that we are here and it is beautiful.

A huge thank you to Kay and Monty Vineyards for hosting such an incredible festival. It is an honour to be part of the Plett Wine of Origin region, South Africa's most north-eastern wine producing area, a little undiscovered route on the Garden Route that continues to surprise people with what comes out of this soil. Nine boutique family-owned farms doing something special in a place most wine lovers have not found yet.

To every single person who showed up, who tasted with us, who laughed with us, who signed up and said "count me in," thank you. You are the reason we do this. You are the reason this place is what it is.

The good times are not gone. They are just waiting for the sun. And so are we.
