Started in 1815 by Lieutenant Frank Cutler, an officer in the Royal Navy and a gentleman too, who served all over the world during the Napoleonic wars, including Africa. Offices were quickly established in London, Bordeaux, Calcutta with an eventual presence across the globe in Mombasa, Tokyo, Rio de Janeiro, Colombo, Shanghai, and Sydney, to name a few. In the days of sailing ships and horse-drawn carriages Cutler, Palmer & Co delivered world renowned wines and spirits to the thirsty and discerning around the globe.
