Built by people. Led by Melanie and Zunia. Carried by a committed team. For over 20 years, Avontuur Restaurant has been a place for long lunches, celebrations and shared memories.

The restaurant will continue on the estate, with its final day under Openhand Catering on 11 May. After a short winter break and refresh, it will reopen later this year for a new chapter.

We invite you to join us while this chapter continues and stay tuned for what is next.

Our Luna De Miel Chardonnay 2024 has been awarded a Gold Medal at the renowned Michelangelo International Wine & Spirits Awards.

Crafted by winemaker Dominique, this wine is a true expression of its Helderberg origins in Stellenbosch. The combination of granitic soils, cool Atlantic breezes, and meticulous cellar work has shaped a Chardonnay that balances energy with elegance, and refinement with depth.

From whole-bunch pressing to extended lees maturation in French oak, every step of the process was designed to capture the essence of terroir with clarity and precision.
This recognition is a celebration of Dominique’s vision and dedication, and a tribute to the exceptional character of Avontuur’s vineyards.

Shaped by the cool-climate slopes of the Helderberg,

— its crimson hue and layers of spice, mulberry, and
violets a true reflection of its origin.
