KABWE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL DESTROYS SEIZED 20 LITRES BY 44 BACKETS OF USED COOKING OIL AND EXPIRED DRINKS FROM LOCAL MARKETS.
The Kabwe Municipal Council has Intensified it's Public Health enforcement to seize several products sold on the local market and destroying all the confiscated harmful and expired goods.
During a routine inspection conducted by the council's Public Health department, inspectors confiscated reused cooking oil that was being resold to members of the public.
The local authority wishes to warn that the members of Public that consumption of such used oil poses serious risks to human health , like development of cardial vascular diseases.
However, today the local authority destroyed approximately 20 litres of 44 buckets of unsafe used cooking oil, seized along side with expired drinks that were still sold on the streets .
The Council expresses concern that despite several warnings, some traders persist in selling the expired products in the Central Business District.
Therefore, the local authority is urging members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid purchasing food and beverages from unverified sources and the public is encouraged to prioritize their health, by ensuring that all consumables were certified and safe for use.
The council is disappointment over the continued sale of expired goods, emphasizing that such practices were not only violating public health regulations Act , but also endanger lives of the people.
Kabwe Municipal Council reaffirms it's commitment to safeguarding public health and promises stiff action against individuals found engaging in such illegal activities.
