Green coloration on chicken knees is usually due to a condition called "cyanosis". 🐓
It's caused by a lack of oxygen in the blood, leading to a buildup of bilirubin, which gives the skin a greenish tint.
This can be due to various factors, including respiratory issues, heart problems, or bacterial infections.
Other possible causes include:
1. Injury to the leg, causing localized bleeding; bruising por hemorrhage in the tissue, leading to blood accumulation and breakdown. As the blood breaks down, it can cause a greenish or bluish tint on the skin.
2. Infection or inflammation affecting the joint or skin.
3. Nutritional deficiency (e.g., vitamin K deficiency affecting blood clotting).
4. Excessive antibiotics residue buildup which can disrupt the guts flora causing issues like vitamin deficiencies.
You should check for other symptoms like swelling, lumps, or mobility issues. Consulting a veterinarian for proper diagnosis and treatment is advisable.
