Savannah Honey Center was among the main sponsors of the just concluded 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament organized by FIDA Kenya at the prestigious Royal Nairobi Golf Club. The event brought together over 200 golfers, partners and supporters united by the goal of strengthening access to justice for women and girls across Kenya.

Hon. (Eng.) Phillip Okundi Visits Savannah Honey Center:

Today, Former Rangwe MP, Phillip Okundi, EBS, HSC, paid a special visit to Savannah Honey Center in Utawala, Nairobi-Kenya, where he held a productive meeting with Savannah Honey CEO, Kyalo Mutua. The discussion focused on the growing potential of beekeeping, Bee Keeping value addition, and community empowerment as key drivers of sustainable development in Kenya.
Hon. Okundi is a highly respected engineer and leader with over 40 years of experience in policy development, government advisory, and infrastructure leadership. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from the University of Westminster and a Master’s Degree in Telecommunication System Engineering from the University of Essex.
Throughout his distinguished career, he has served in several senior roles including Managing Director of Kenya Ports Authority, CEO of Kenya Bureau of Standards, CEO of Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, and Chairman of the Board at Communications Commission of Kenya, as well as Member of Parliament for Rangwe Constituency (2003–2007).
During the visit, both leaders exchanged ideas on expanding beekeeping initiatives, promoting value-added honey products, and empowering communities through sustainable apiculture. The engagement highlighted the importance of partnerships in strengthening Kenya’s honey value chain and creating economic opportunities for local communities.
The visit marked a significant step toward collaboration in advancing beekeeping and rural empowerment across Kenya and Africa.
