πΎπ FEEDING SCHEDULE FOR LAYERS:
ADJUSTING BY SEASON FOR MAXIMUM EGG PRODUCTION π₯β¨
Did you know that the time and quantity of feed you give your layers daily greatly affects their performance? Proper feeding schedule ensures good feed intake, better digestion, and improved egg quality. But most importantly, the season matters! π¦οΈβοΈβοΈ
πΉ General Rule: Layers should consume 100% of their daily ration in two main portions β morning and evening β but the percentage differs with the season.
π Hot Season (Dry/Heat Stress Periods)
Birds eat less during the day due to heat.
Schedule:
Morning (cool hours): 60β70% of daily ration
Evening (cool hours): 30β40% of daily ration
β
This ensures they eat enough when comfortable, avoiding stress and drop in egg production.
π§οΈ Cold/Rainy Season
Birds eat more comfortably throughout the day.
Schedule:
Morning: 40β50% of daily ration
Afternoon/Evening: 50β60% of daily ration
β
This balances intake and keeps birds active, warm, and productive.
π Extra Tips:
βοΈ Provide clean, cool water at all times β water intake drives feed intake.
βοΈ Always feed at consistent times daily.
βοΈ Avoid feeding during the hottest part of the day in hot seasons.
βοΈ Ensure feeders are not overcrowded to prevent wastage.
