Every Friday is Dip Day at Umvutcha Farm.
We dip our livestock to protect them from tick-borne diseases. However, calves under six months are not dipped — this helps them naturally build up immunity while they’re still suckling from their mothers.
Before dipping begins, we separate the calves from their moms, and once dipping is complete, they’re reunited. This video captures that joyful reunion after just a short time apart.

Umvutcha Lucerne, currently selling for $12.50 per round bale.

We feed the lucerne to our Jersey dairy cows, our maternity Nkine/commercial cow herd, our feedlot lambs, as well as milling it and mixing up our own maintenance feed for the Nkone/commercial cow herd, the young bull herd, and a pen fattening mix for our lambs in the feedlot.

Lucerne is power!
