Meet the Honorary | Jameson Mashakada Mbe 🇬🇧
Jameson Mashakada MBE is an accomplished UK Civil Servant and public policy leader with more than 22 years of distinguished service across HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC), the Department for Work and Pensions, the Department for Environment, and the Department for Business.
Currently serving as Head of the VAT Deductions Policy Team at HMRC, Jameson has built an exceptional career in public policy, tax administration, and government leadership. A respected Race Champion and advocate for inclusion, he has played a significant role in advancing equality, diversity, and inclusion across HMRC and the wider UK Civil Service, helping shape policy and drive meaningful organisational change.
In recognition of his outstanding contribution, Jameson was awarded the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in His Majesty The King's Birthday Honours 2026 for services to Race Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Born and raised in rural Masvingo, Zimbabwe, he continues to champion community service, mentorship, and the advancement of Zimbabweans in the United Kingdom, proudly flying the Zimbabwean flag on the global stage.
Despite making a life in the diaspora, Jameson has remained deeply connected to his roots. Driven by his passion for farming, he established JG Meats & Pig Farm at his ancestral home in Masvingo, honouring his late father’s legacy while creating jobs, empowering others, uplifting the community, and contributing to rural development and economic growth.
