Saturday night brunch, but make it a night out 🥂

We headed to Miss Tess at Taj Dubai for Secret Brunch After Dark and loved the combination of great food and non-stop entertainment.

The à la carte brunch was a winner, with re-orderable appetisers including dynamite shrimp, dim sum and chicken yakitori, followed by sharing mains. The Thai green curry and Kung Pao chicken were highlights, with a refreshing yuzu tart to finish.

Entertainment runs throughout the evening, from Chinese fan dancers to live performances, but the singer completely stole the show!

📍 Miss Tess, Taj Dubai
🗓 Every Saturday
⏰ 7pm – 10:30pm + afterparty
🥂 AED 525 premium package including Prosecco

Definitely one to try if you like your brunch to feel more like a Saturday night out!

🥩🐟 Steak or Sea Bass?

We headed to The Beam at Le Royal Méridien Beach Resort & Spa for their Steak & Bass Frites Night, and it definitely lived up to expectations. If you know Chef Nick Alvis, you’ll know the standard is always high.

For AED 150 per person, you can choose between a 200g dry-aged Black Angus sirloin or a coal-fired whole Mediterranean sea bass. We tried both, and honestly, you can’t go wrong.

Each dish comes with unlimited fries, a fresh garden salad and your choice of signature sauce. We also added a bottle of house wine for AED 100, making it a great date night option.

The offer is available Tuesday to Sunday, from 5pm–11pm, and to make it even better, they’re currently offering 30% off your total bill until the end of July.

Definitely one to add to your Dubai dining list. 👏🍷

The Urban Lounge Pool Terrace at InterContinental Dubai Marina has had a fresh renovation and has just reopened, so we went along for a pool day to check it out!
The whole area feels really fresh and relaxed, with comfy cabanas, plenty of greenery and great views across Dubai Marina. It’s a nice little escape without actually having to leave the Marina.
First priority was an iced latte before settling in by the pool!
They serve breakfast until 12pm, but we held out for lunch and went for the chicken Caesar salad and crispy katsu chicken burger. The Caesar was really fresh with plenty of tender chicken and just the right amount of dressing. The katsu burger was loaded with coleslaw and sriracha mayo and came with fries plus all the usual condiments on the side, which I appreciated as I normally have to ask! Portions were really generous too.
One thing worth knowing is that the pool can become shaded after around 2pm at certain times of the year. During summer though, there’s plenty of sunshine throughout the day, plus lots of beds and cabanas with shade if you need a break from it.
The best part for us is the value. The full cost of the pool pass is redeemable on food and drinks, so you can easily use it over lunch and a few drinks.
Pool Day: 9am – 6pm
AED 149 weekdays
AED 199 weekends
They also do a Night Swim every day from 6-9:30pm for AED 149, which is also fully redeemable.
For a pool day in Dubai Marina, we thought this was really good value. Nice setting, generous food portions and the fact you can spend your entire entry fee on food and drinks makes it even better.
Anyone else been since the renovation? Would definitely be interested to hear what you thought!

We headed to SA’CHA for their Unlimited Bao Thursday Night and the quality of the food is seriously impressive.
The best part? Every single bao was genuinely good. Normally there’s one or two you’d skip... not here.
The menu was packed with flavour. We started with the Crispy Chicken Mantou Bao with thick crispy thigh, homemade ssamjang and negi sauce, the incredibly tender Beef Cheek with plantain, manchego and rich beef jus, the fresh Asian Seabass with yuzu mayo and pickled onion, the Argentinian Prawn with coconut mayo and kaffir mango salsa, and the Crispy Duck with peanut butter and kumquat jam, which was probably my favourite of the night. Even the Mushroom Bao was excellent, so don’t overlook it.
For AED 178, you get unlimited baos, two house beverages and two hours to enjoy them from 5pm. Considering the quality of the food, I think it’s fantastic value.
A big shout out to Chan, who looked after us all evening. She knew every dish inside out, explained the ingredients brilliantly and her service really made the whole experience even better.
I genuinely hope more people discover SA’CHA because it’s one of those places that deserves far more attention. We’ll definitely be back. 👏
