**“I’ll ask my husband and let you know.”**

Honestly, this is one of the **most common responses** I hear from women who reach out to me.

Sometimes it's the husband. Sometimes it's the son. Sometimes it's the children.

Recently, I watched a video of **Kiran Bedi, a retired Indian IPS officer and the first woman to join the IPS**, where she spoke about this kind of dependency and even used the strong comparison **“Stockholm syndrome.”**

It really made me think about the conversations I have with women every day.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with discussing decisions with your husband or family. **Marriage is a partnership.**

But discussion and permission are two different things.

If you're educated, earning, managing a household, raising children and making important decisions every day, then your voice should matter when it comes to **your own growth too.**

Take advice. Have the conversation. Respect your family.

**But don't lose your own voice in the process.**

Financial independence isn't only about earning money.
**It's also about trusting yourself enough to make informed decisions.** ❤️
