Before the Martini, there was the Martinez. A little sweeter, a little more herbal, built in an era before gin became the dry, crisp thing we know today. Imagine the love-child of a Manhattan and a Martini.
Our version uses an Old Tom gin that’s rounder and reminiscent of Dutch genever, Punt e Mes (a slightly bitter Italian vermouth) and a bar spoon of dry Curaçao (technically part of the Netherlands).
