The Pre-Congress Tour continues to deep-dive into the "Real Argentina." Today, we visited a family business with over 100 years of history: Agropecuaria La Criolla.
Our delegates were given an "all-access" look at a system that connects high-yield cropping with world-class beef production.

Agriculture is the universal language! 🌎🌾
Our delegation shared a powerful moment today at Pía Margarita. Beyond the technical challenges of farming in 80% sandy soils, today was about the human connection that binds the global agricultural community together. 🤝✨
A heartfelt thank you to Hernán Magnasco, David Hughes, and their incredible team for opening their gates and their hearts. From "defensive" cropping strategies and cover crops to high-precision digital tools (Auravant), we learned that while the soil and climate change across borders, the resilience and passion of the producer remain the same. 🚜☀️
Whether from New Zealand, the UK, North America, or right here in the Pampa, we all speak the language of the land. Cheers to our hosts and to the beautiful humanity of global agriculture! 🇦🇷🌱

Today our delegation stepped into the future at Pereda Agro. Established in 1883, this 4th-generation family operation is proving that tradition and robotics are the perfect match for 21st-century agriculture. 🚜🐄

The Highlights:
🤖 15 Lely Robots servicing a 900-cow herd.
🥛 33,000 liters of daily production in a state-of-the-art Compost Barn.
🌻 Global Reach: From soil to snack, exporting confectionery sunflowers directly to world markets.
🤝 Legacy: A masterclass in family governance and institutional stability.

We have just finished ourResilience and Precision at the Agricultural Frontier 🚜🌾
​Our delegation has just concluded an insightful technical visit to Pía Margarita (Pellegrini), a benchmark for "defensive agriculture" in Western Buenos Aires.
​We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Hernán Magnasco, David Hughes, and the entire team for their hospitality and the high-level professional exchange.
​Managing crops in an environment with 70-80% sand presents unique challenges. Our delegates were particularly impressed by the strategic use of cover crops—vetch and rye—as essential tools to improve soil structure and protect the surface from the region's frequent dry winds.
​Seeing the integration of digital agriculture (Auravant) to manage this specific water-limited environment provided our international managers with a clear example of how technology and nature can work in synergy under pressure.
​Beyond the technicalities, it is the "human exchange"—the sharing of setbacks, successes, and management philosophies—that makes these visits truly invaluable.
​Thank you, Pía Margarita, for opening your gates and showing us the resilience of the Argentine Pampa.

From the grill to the field: The IFMA25 delegation has arrived at Los Manuelitos! 🚜🇦🇷

After our cultural fuel-up in Chivilcoy, we dove straight into the heart of high-performance Argentine agriculture at Los Cánticos S.A. Hosted by David Hughes and Hernán Magnasco, our delegates explored a masterclass in modern farm management.

Y no estoy hablando del norte, Marruecos o Egipto es una parte del continente, es casi una excursión desde Europa. Además todavía no tiene una conectividad aérea eficiente. Por eso creo que nos falta un tiempo para que sea un destino hacia el cual movamos más cantidad de pasajeros. Pero por supuesto que los argentinos van a llegar. Hay que tener en cuenta que somos un turista muy culto, muy preguntón; nos interesa entender el destino. Pienso que África es uno con muchísimas particularidades, estoy seguro de que a la gente del Interior le encantaría hacer un safari, encontrarían otra vida relacionada con la naturaleza, y eso no lo podés conseguir en ningún otro lugar.
