Welcome to The Ländle List. Local recommendations & inspiring places to eat, explore & experience across Vorarlberg.

My name is Nicola and I moved to Vorarlberg at the end of 2014 after living in Sydney, Australia for seven years.I am originally from the UK and have a love for food and drink. When I left Sydney a lot of my friends asked me for my "list". This was my recommendations for cafes, bars, restaurants, food stores and everything in between. Whenever I visit new places I always seek out recommendations given by locals to ensure I make the most of the city. Therefore I wanted to begin to put together my "Laendle List" and share my experiences as I discover the very best that Laendle has to offer.

Date night Cafe | Restaurant in Lochau | Mango coconut curry salmon and duck to warm us up on a cold and wet evening. Followed by apple strudel drowning in custard, just the way it should be 🥰

I checked out Le Jasmin‘s new location in Dornbirn this week. With six of us around the table, it quickly turned into a feast filled with fresh flavours, colourful dishes and plenty of „you need to try this“ moments. Read my full blog now.

Reader Recommendation: With no KFC in sight… where can you find a really good Backhendl?

For anyone new to Austrian food, Backhendl is essentially Austria’s answer to fried chicken — crispy, golden and very hard to resist!

recently shared her experience at Gasthaus .lustenau, where she tried both the classic Backhendl and the Backhendl Burger — and it was a 10/10 😋!

Tucked away beside the river, with the hills rising around it, this steakhouse feels like a little escape right in the centre of Feldkirch.

Great food, a relaxed atmosphere and a beautiful setting make it the perfect spot for a long lunch, dinner with friends or a special evening out.

From one little hand to her own business 🤍

Almost 20 years ago, Bettina made a cast of her niece’s hand. She never imagined that this simple idea would eventually become Bettina's Gipsfabrik – a business dedicated to capturing special moments and turning them into something you can hold onto forever.

Since then, she’s built the business from scratch while raising two young children, learning, experimenting and taking the leap into self-employment.

I chatted to Bettina about how it all began, some of the most special moments she’s captured, and what she’s learned along the way.

Moji created by the team behind Need Korean Cuisine & BBQ and Mint11, is the kind of place you walk into and instantly feel at ease. Beautiful interiors, a genuinely warm welcome, and a menu filled with ramen, sushi, dumplings, and Japanese‑inspired starters that go way beyond the usual. From creamy miso ramen to handmade wontons and okonomiyaki, Moji is all about flavour, freshness, and a little bit of fun. Moji Restaurant

Have you heard of Mulino Brot & Wein? This stunning old mill has been transformed into a beautiful restaurant, and twice a month they host an exclusive evening featuring a 4‑course set menu. It’s a true culinary experience — the setting, the food, the w**e, the atmosphere. Their dinner nights book up quickly and well in advance, but they’re absolutely worth the wait. Full blog online.
