He shaped a generation of w**e connoisseurs at a time when the term “sommelier” did not really exist in Austria. **e

While my parents and brother Nick Sciacca arrived too late for the harvest, I put them to work in the cellar. Today we racked and pressed off the 2026 orange w**e after nearly 3 weeks of skin contact— a blend of Müller Thurgau, Chenin Blanc and a little bit of Roussanne. After settling it will be racked into Tava Ceramics amphora for 1 year. **e

🔉 Sound on. Not too dramatic for my first full barrique (225 liters) with none other than sémillon and a few liters of sauvignon blanc — white Bordeaux blend made in Austria! Fermenting in barrel. Ooh la la. C’est si bon. **e

Day 3: Fermentation is underway. Sugar level dropped from 20.2 Brix to 18.3 Brix. Go yeast go!!! **e

We recruited a new employee this harvest to crush the orange w**e since my cousin couldn’t make it. This is the trick to get young people excited about w**e again. 😉🫣

Can you tell I am anxious to harvest? It’s only my 4th harvest at **e and it’s by far the earliest by 2-3 weeks. But the Chenin, Sémillon and Roussane are nearly ready — about another week and it’s go time. **e

According to 85% of consumers purchase w**e based primarily on the appearance and design of the label, so I put a lot of effort into my labels.

The shed on the labels is debossed and printed on a 1950s Heidelberg press by and then I stamp the vintage (year) by hand. This year I will have more than 400 bottles, so it takes time, but I enjoy it. **e

I will be bottling in the next few weeks and the allocation list if open if you want to reserve a bottle or two — shipping at the end of the year. Shopify link in profile - no payment necessary.
