Dear Hallstein community,
Many years ago our family sat at a kitchen table with a simple question: if words like “pure” or “premium” don’t tell the truth about water, what does? We stopped using adjectives and started chasing numbers—pH, dissolved oxygen, sodium, nitrate, temperature, mineral balance. Patience and geology became our teachers.
20 years ago on a very cold morning, in a quiet clearing, the ground seemed to exhale. A confined aquifer revealed itself—pressurized and cold. We didn’t celebrate. We listened. Then we waited. Through winter, spring, and summer we logged every reading and learned the wellhead’s rhythm. Only when the pattern held did we earn the right to touch it. We answered with less—one simple line, a small door, and a promise to keep nature’s balance.
That promise is the purpose behind Hallstein.
Our work is to respect the source and share its truth. We measure and publish, not embellish. It means continuity you can audit: the same wellhead, the same geology, the same discipline for twenty years. It means choosing stewardship over shortcuts—protecting the aquifer, bottling at the source, and designing with intention, because protecting the water includes being thoughtful about what contains it.
Many of you care deeply about health, performance, and the planet—and you hold us to a high standard. You should. We believe great drinking water must be earned, not engineered; demonstrated, not declared. When you invite us into your homes and routines, you’re trusting that the numbers still match the vow we made at the wellhead.
As we mark 20 years, we think less about a milestone and more about responsibility—keep listening to the aquifer, keep publishing our reports, keep improving our footprint, and keep production limited to what the source can naturally support. If you see something we can do better, tell us. Accountability protects this place.
Thank you for believing in this region and its water, and in the promise we work to keep. If there’s one commitment we ask you to share, it’s safeguarding the source—together.
With gratitude for your support and your belief in what careful work can do,
Alexander & The Muhr Family
