Are you looking for FREE RANGE eggs produced by a family-owned business with NO OTHER FORMS of egg production such as caged?
At Golden Free Range we are PASSIONATE about producing the FRESHEST free range eggs produced from our wonderful hens.
These eggs TASTE AMAZING from our playful hens enjoying FRESH feed with HERBS & SPICES that is produced daily on our farm!
Our FRIENDLY hens enjoy running around their INDOOR (5 hens/m2 - less than half the normal stocking density) and OUTDOOR space (7,500 - 10,000 hens/ha = 1 hen per m2), giving them FREEDOM to play inside or OUT during rain, hail or shine = HAPPY HENS!
Our hens enjoy taking dust baths, stretching and spreading their wings, scratching for insects and welcoming the shade from fruit and native trees planted for their COMFORT and ENJOYMENT.
Each egg is carefully hand collected, graded and packed by our FANTASTIC staff.
Many crop and fruit farmers come and access our cultivated MANURE to improve their soil. We also have avid gardeners who love a bag or two of Gold Dust to green up their lawns and grown the best produce.
Sit back and enjoy the video snapshot of our farm and read or listen to the informative INTERVIEW of Steve "the Egg Man"! Just look for the link on our FB page

Business Update
In 2006, we created the first large commercial free range egg farm with NO OTHER FORMS of production in Tasmania, by converting a caged farm. We then decided in 2013 to create an open pasture free range farm. We have spent more than $50,000 in Development Applications for two parcels of land over the last three years. We were successful in gaining conditional approval but two of the conditions were too subjective for us to invest more than $3 million dollars and risk our personal assets and family well-being, so we have not ventured forth at this time
During this time period the Labour-Green Government gave $3.1 million to three of our major competitors to convert some of their cage production into free range thus creating an unfair competitive advantage. The two governments had been to our farm and led us to believe we would be successful in gaining funds to expand our business while we funded the purchase of more land, but this was not the outcome.
Luckily, our experience in free range farming has resulted in low internal stocking density to enable our hens to feel very comfortable to leave their food and water and range outside as they are able to easily access the feed and water when they return. This is perfect for free range egg production in areas with inclement weather such as Southern Tasmania.
We are definitely open to any offers of suitable land nearby for us to produce eggs on an open pasture range - just call Steve!
