South Australia Regulations Update 🌿 New Compostable Labelling Requirements 🌿

Under South Australia’s phased Single-use and Other Plastic Products (Waste Avoidance) legislation, from 1 March 2026, all food and beverage containers and their lids that contain any form of plastic (including linings, coatings, or windows) must:

Be certified compostable to an Australian standard, and
Be clearly labelled as “Home Compostable”, “Industrially Compostable”, or both

These requirements apply to all affected products supplied into South Australia.
