Spend a Sunday the Southern Italian way - with good food, beautiful w**e and time to enjoy both.

On 1 November, the pleasure begins long before we sit down to eat. We’ll share the stories behind our favourite family recipes, taste as we go and enjoy a generous long lunch with George's Folly Wines chosen to complement the food.

If you’ve been thinking about joining one of our cooking experiences, don’t let this Sunday pass you by. Only 4 spots left — we’d love you to join us.

At 91, Zio had one very important job - draw the winner of our Royal Adelaide Show hamper.

Congratulations, Rebecca!

And thank you to everyone who entered, followed us online and stopped by to see us at the Royal Adelaide Show. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces — and meet plenty of new ones too.

If you’d like the chance to meet Zio, there’s another reason to gather around the table with us for our Spring Southern Italian Cooking Experience on Sunday 1 November — you may even have the chance to share a story or two with him, alongside a hands-on day of cooking, tasting and the kind of long lunch we love to share.

Last Sunday began in the garden & ended around a long, Italian inspired table.

In between, there was flour on the benches, tiny chicken polpette being rolled, pici stretched by hand, involtini filled & wrapped, olive oils compared, & George's Folly Wines w**es poured beside the food.

Some of the pici were long and slender. Others were beautifully uneven - which is part of the pleasure of making them by hand.

We cooked zuppa di polpette, pici, spinach-and-ricotta involtini, followed by our honey, orange & Sambuca panna cotta.

The part we love most comes when the cooking slows down, everyone finds a place at the table, and the food begins to travel from one person to the next.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought such warmth, curiosity and good humour to the day.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll share more from the experience: the story behind pici, how to recognise an olive oil that has lost its freshness, and why we chose each George’s Folly pairing.

Follow along for more traditions, stories and news of our next cooking experience.

George's Folly Wines will be poured through our Sunday Winter Warmers long lunch.

Not as a formal w**e tasting.
Not as a separate feature.
As part of the table itself.

While we get our hands dirty making pici.
While the zuppa di polpette and involtini come together.
While the room fills with the smell of Southern Italian winter cooking.

It is the kind of food that takes you back to slow days in Italy, when the table is full, lunch lingers and there is nowhere else you need to be.

This is the kind of winter Sunday that is easy to keep putting off.

But it is also the kind of Sunday people remember - because it gives you time to step out of the ordinary, sit properly, eat well, and share something made with care.

If you’ve been thinking about joining us, we’d love to welcome you to the table.

Some pastas ask for machines. Pici ask for hands.

For Sunday Winter Warmers at the Italian Table, guests will make pici by hand — an old Tuscan pasta rolled under the palms into long, rustic strands. It is simple, playful and wonderfully imperfect, almost like making little skipping ropes from pasta dough.

Pici are Tuscan by birth, especially tied to southern Tuscany around Siena, the Val d’Orcia and the Val di Chiana. But the feeling behind them belongs beautifully at a Southern Italian winter table: flour and water, patient hands, strong sauces, w**e poured by George's Folly Wines , and a shared table.

You do not need to be an experienced cook. The day is warm, relaxed and guided step by step.

Bookings are now open for Sunday Winter Warmers at the Italian Table.

This cooking experience, inspired by southern Italian food traditions, is not a cooking demonstration. It is a welcoming, hands-on cooking experience with seasonal dishes, generous hospitality and the pleasure of cooking and eating together — with winter menu teasers including zuppa di polpette and handmade pici pasta.

Guests take part in the preparation, the cooking, the tasting and the conversation, before sitting down to enjoy a shared long lunch shaped by the season and the joy of good company. All accompanied by George's Folly Wines , Cello Liqueur and Back 2 Basics Traditions products.

A delicious shared table from Sunday.

We had the pleasure of catering for the Rebel Heart Journeys retreat day at the Collective Soul Centre, creating a generous seasonal lunch built around comfort, colour and simple food made well.

The menu included in-season zuppa di funghi, frittata, garlic bread and fresh salads — the kind of food that feels nourishing, relaxed and made to be shared.

It is always a pleasure to create food for spaces like this, where the table becomes part of the day’s experience.

Thank you for having us.
