After Amsterdam, We hopped a flight to Munich. First stop on arrival Hofbrau Haus, Justin found his happy place, good fun drinking a litre of great beer while munching on a selection of wursts. The following day we caught the train to Freising. The home of Weinstephan, the oldest continually operated Brewery in the world. The tour and tastings were incredible. After that we explored Freising a little and found a quiet creek to decompress and take in the scenery. Prost 🍻

I recently embarked on a beer adventure of Europe with my good mate Justin, Destination 1 was Amsterdam. While Heineken was available everywhere we managed to find some great local craft beer at Troost, some classic wheat beers at The Old Bell and even found Jenever bar in a back alley that made some cracking spirits. Must admit, with jet lag and the beers consumed its hard to recall every different beer I tried but I was impressed by the quality and flavour that was on offer. Definitely not a boring beer city if you go looking...

Today marks a career milestone! I have filled the first whisky barrel, brewed and distilled in Cudlee Creek.
With nearly 5 years behind me at and having done nearly every job under the sun to build the place, today feels a little more special.
If I'd been told that one day I'd be making whisky, gin, beer and even my own Tonic water I think I would have struggled to believe it, Yet here we are.
It feels good to sit back with a G&T that I created from scratch, while the maturation clock finally starts to tick ⏰️

Today I stopped and climbed to the top. Not a bad view 😎

Great to see SH Distillery scoring well on the national stage. 👏

Sunny Hill Distillery are excited to announce that we won the following awards at the 2022 Australian Distilled Spirits Awards!
Gold for our first release heavy rum
Silver for our Limoncello
Silver for our wheat vodka
Bronze for our second release Whisky premiere francais
We entered 4 products and all four came away with a medal. We are super proud of our production team and all their effort they put into making our award winning spirits.

Exciting news this week from SA's largest independent brewer. Not only are they building a micro brewery but will be extending the function of their malting plant by producing Australian Whisky. I for one cant wait! 🍺
