Today, our hearts are broken. 💔
This morning, a devastating fire that started at the neighbouring charity shop spread to our restaurant, Hot & Spicy.
In a matter of moments, we watched everything we had worked so hard to build disappear. We have lost almost everything. Our restaurant, our equipment, our stock, and so many things that took years of hard work and sacrifice to build.
But what hurts us even more is thinking about our staff and their families. Hot & Spicy wasn’t just a business — it was a workplace and a source of livelihood for people who have stood beside us, worked hard with us and helped make this place what it was.
Looking at our restaurant like this is something we never imagined we would have to experience. Behind these burnt walls are countless memories, long days, late nights, sacrifices, laughter, struggles and dreams. It feels like a part of our family has been taken away overnight.
We are devastated and still trying to process what has happened, but we are incredibly thankful that lives are more important than anything that has been lost.
A heartfelt thank you to the firefighters and emergency services who worked tirelessly at the scene, and to everyone who has already reached out with love and support. 🙏
Today we have lost almost everything we built, but we haven’t lost our hope.
We don’t know what the coming days will look like, but Hot & Spicy has always been built on hard work, our amazing team and the love of our community.
We hope one day we can open our doors again and welcome you all back. Until then, please keep our team and everyone affected by this tragedy in your thoughts. ❤️🩹
