Our sauces can be used to prepare a wide range of curry dishes, satay sauces, classic dishes like Gado Gado and Rendang and perennial favourites - Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng. Our Curry Paste is also an excellent choice for marinading dishes, our peanut sauce can be used as a dipping sauce and the Chilli Paste an ideal spread or condiment to spice up your burger, sandwich or meal! It can be used for curries, marinating for meat, poultry or seafood - in preparing roast, grill or BBQ

Our Story

Bali in a Jar is the brainchild of it’s founder, Desak Yoni.

For years Desak had operated a popular eatery on the NSW coast in Newcastle called Bali Corner. Having built a loyal clientele, Desak realised there was a ready made market for providing authentic and tasty Balinese sauces that allowed the exotic flavours of the “Spice Islands” to be transferred to the everyday person’s kitchen thereby allowing for quick, easy and extremely tasty Balinese meals to be prepared at home.

From that simple concept, Bali in a Jar was born. Initially produced from her restaurant kitchen in Newcastle,Desak has been experimenting with the recipes and locations for manufacturing - leading her eventually to settle in Adelaide to manufacture the sauces here through her company, Bali Foods Australia Pty Ltd.

Desak’s mission continues to be to create a unique range of sauces that bring to mind the nostalgic memories of Bali (or perhaps to excite the mind of the possibility of memories to be gained in a future visit!), and that also allows the preparation of meals that don’t waste precious family time, and that contain unforgetably exotic aromas and tastes.
