We hold wonderful gourmet food & wine events throughout the year for our members & guests to raise funds for our Young Chef & Sommelier Competitions & further the gastronomic excellence of our emerging stars. La Chaine des Rotisseurs SA has already delivered exciting new gourmet experiences and run a successful Young Chef Competition since being reborn in February 2014. Our vision for the South Australian chapter includes revamping both the Young Chef and Sommelier Competitions and increasing support for the hospitality industry. HISTORY AND MISSION

The Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs™ originates in France and is an international gastronomic society devoted to promoting fine dining and preserving the camaraderie and pleasures of the table. It is the oldest and largest food and wine society in the world and although the modern day Chaîne began in 1950, the traditions and practices used are based on those of the old French Guild of Roasters, whose written history dates back to 1248. La Chaîne brings together private individuals and professionals from all over the world, whether they are hoteliers, restaurateurs, executive chefs or sommeliers, in the appreciation of fine gastronomy. It is a non-profit organisation that raises funds through events and donations, only to return those directly to furthering the skilling opportunities for the two areas of the hospitality industry of chefs & sommeliers. We are globally active in 70 countries with in excess of 25,000 members, with two membership groups: private individuals and industry professionals. La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs has as it’s cornerstone a three-part mission:

• To advance the learning opportunities for young chefs
• To advance the learning opportunities for young sommeliers
• To enjoy the art of fine dining. Finances are drawn from members, industry sponsorships and the gastronomic events it holds. In simple terms, members are serious food and wine aficionados and generally successful business people with the desire and ability to help foster the industry. Giving back is a key motivation. The organisation advances it’s mission both on a local and international scale through the work of it’s local chapters (known as bailliages). Become a member!!

Members and guests travelled north to Port Broughton and Fisherman Bay for a weekend getaway filled with fabulous food and outstanding wines all shared with beautiful friends.
Highlights included a cocktail party at Palette 2 Palette , a local Pt Broughton restaurant, wine bar and art gallery followed by a BBQ overlooking the beach and Fisherman Bay.
