🍺 Beer-Steamed Clams with Garlic Butter
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs fresh littleneck clams, scrubbed clean
- 1 bottle (12 oz) wheat beer or light lager
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 small shallot, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh flat-leaf parsley, chopped
- Crusty bread for dipping
- Salt and red pepper flakes to taste
Instructions:
1. Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Saute garlic and shallot until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
2. Pour in the beer and bring to a gentle simmer.
3. Add clams, cover tightly, and steam 5 to 8 minutes until all clams have opened. Discard any that remain closed.
4. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes.
5. Serve in deep bowls with the golden garlic-butter broth and thick slices of crusty bread for soaking.
Pair with the same wheat beer you cooked with. Simple, perfect, and gone in minutes.
