Dinner the Riverview went ok. Parmi was the pick of the oysters, Barra and parmi. Very busy place Friday before Xmas. The words on the front of the pub meant Glass with a View was definitely welcome!

Woodburn never ceases to disappoint. The photos don’t do it justice. We’ve been stopping at the park across the road on the Richmond River for a break on route from Sydney to Brisbane since I moved to Sydney before we had kids. Until today I had never been to the Rod n Reel. They make their own beer. I enjoyed the Hazy Summer.

Bucket Beer locally brewed in Kempsey with chicken wings for lunch.

Chicken Wing Review: well we chose Gladstone Heritage Hotel over the Riverview Hotel across the Macleay River at Smithtown because the Gladstone had Buffalo wings but the Riverview advertised Bbq. As fans of Buffalo wings we were in search of Franks hot sauce. The wings were great but not spicey enough for us. Lovely blue cheese sauce and I’m not a fan of blue cheese sauce so that says something. So wings were more bbq than buffalo but enjoyable if you prefer less spice.
