What an unforgettable couple of days. ❤️

We’ve had the absolute pleasure of hosting Catman Ken at the Airlie Dash house over the last few nights, and what started as a completely random encounter has turned into a friendship we’ll genuinely treasure.

We’ve had the chance to show Catman around Airlie, introduce him to some of our local community and businesses, share plenty of laughs and watch firsthand just how many people his journey has touched.

Behind the Catman name is a genuinely kind, generous and inspiring person who is doing all of this for an incredible cause — raising money for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

🦆 AIRLIE DASH UPDATE

We’ve been a little quiet this week while we’ve been working behind the scenes on the next stage of Airlie Dash.

We’ll remain closed this weekend and reopen from Tuesday, with our regular delivery service returning.

We’ve got plenty happening — new drivers, new venues and a few other things we’re looking forward to sharing soon.

🦆 CALLING LOCAL ARTISTS 🎨

We talk a lot about supporting local at Airlie Dash — and we realised that should extend to our advertising too.

Like plenty of small businesses, we’ve used AI to help create graphics and social content. We understand why businesses use it: it’s quick, convenient and, when you’re starting out, affordable.

But as Airlie Dash grows, we want more of what we put out into the community to be created by the community.

So, we’re looking for a local artist or designer — established, aspiring, studying, self-taught, whatever — to work with us on a new Airlie Dash advertising campaign.

The campaign will be built around Chuck 🦆 — our admittedly AI-born Airlie Dash duck — but we want a local human to take him from here and develop their own interpretation of him and the Airlie Dash brand.

The finished artwork will be used across signage, bus-stop advertising, print and digital marketing around the Whitsundays, with the artist credited for their work.

This is paid work. We’re not asking anyone to work for “exposure”.

He’ll also be making appearances for new venue launches, giveaways, specials and probably causing a bit of trouble along the way.
