HARD TRUTH: You Don't Need More Recipes
One thing I've learned after 10+ years helping people in their kitchens:
You don't need more recipes.
You need a plan for the days when life gets messy.
Most people think dinner is hard because they don't know what to cook.
In my experience, dinner is hard because:
🥴 Everyone is tired
🥴 Nobody has taken anything out of the freezer
🥴 The day didn't go to plan
🥴 Someone is hungry RIGHT NOW
The families who seem to have it together aren't cooking fancy meals every night.
They're repeating simple meals.
They're using leftovers.
They're batch cooking when they can.
And they're making decisions before they're exhausted.
That's why I spend more time planning than cooking.
It sounds boring, but it's probably saved me thousands of dollars and hundreds of takeaway meals over the years.
The goal isn't to be a perfect cook.
The goal is to make feeding your family easier.
Did you need this reminder too?
❤️ Save this for later.

I didn't realise how much this would mean to me... until today.

This morning started like most mornings.

A walk before the sun got too high.
A coffee.
A quick check on Casey.
A look at what was left in the fridge and freezer.

Nothing particularly exciting.

But as I was putting together lunch and thinking about dinner, I found myself reflecting on how much easier life feels than it used to.

Not perfect. Just easier.

A few years ago I was juggling work, family, caring responsibilities, trying to eat better, trying to save money, trying to keep everyone fed and wondering where the day had gone.

These days I still have all the same responsibilities, but I've learned that the little systems matter.

A loaf of bread baked at home.
Soup in the freezer.
A meal planned before 5pm.
Knowing I can put something healthy on the table even when life is chaotic.

It's funny because people often think what I love about Thermomix is the machine.

Truthfully?

It's not really about the machine.

It's about having a little more time.
A little less stress.
A little more confidence that dinner is sorted.
A little more space for the people who matter.

And after a pretty challenging few weeks, I'm genuinely grateful for that.

What’s a small thing in your life that makes a much bigger difference than people realise? ❤️

☕ Wednesday Question Time

One of the questions I've been asking lately is:

If you had one extra day off every week, how would you spend it?

A few years ago I probably would have said catching up on housework.

These days?

I'd still go for my morning walk. I'd have coffee with Bob. I'd probably spend time in the kitchen making something completely unnecessary just because I felt like it. Maybe swim, read a book, plan a trip, or sit with Hector in the sunshine.

The older I get, the more I realise that freedom isn't always about having more money.

Sometimes it's having more time.
More energy.
More choices.

So I'm curious...

👇 If someone handed you one extra day every week, no strings attached, what would you do with it?

(P.S. Mine would definitely involve good food. There's a reason I've got an Indian cooking class coming up in July and an Asian cooking class in September... apparently I can't help myself 😂)

Some Sundays are exciting.

Some Sundays are just wonderfully ordinary ❤️

This morning started with our usual walk, followed by coffee beans blitzed in the Thermomix and poached eggs on homemade bread for breakfast.

Lunch was Skinny Mixers bacon and vegetable soup, while Casey requested leek and potato soup, so I made a batch of that for the freezer too.

This afternoon Bob made not one but TWO batches of biscuits while I got an osso bucco bubbling away in the slow cooker for dinner.

One of the things I love most is how food just seems to flow through our day. A bit of cooking, a bit of planning ahead, a freezer topped up, and a lot less stress when life gets busy.

Although if there is reincarnation, don't come back as a Thermomix in our house... you'd have to work far too hard! 😂

Quick question…

If you could take ONE thing off your weekly mental load in the kitchen — what would it be?

• dinners sorted faster
• less mess
• healthier meals without overthinking
• or just not having to decide what to cook every night

I’ve been having some really relaxed ‘show you how it works’ sessions lately (nothing formal, promise)

Tonight wasn’t a ‘demo’.

It was a couple of friends, a glass of wine, and seeing what this can actually do in real life.

The best part?

Watching that moment where it clicks…
‘Oh… this would actually make my life easier.’

No pressure. No big sales pitch.

Just people realising they don’t have to do everything the hard way anymore 💚”

“I’ve got a couple of spots for relaxed cooking nights like this if you’ve been curious.”

Confession… I nearly didn’t go.

I was tired, my head was full, and part of me felt like I hadn’t ‘earned’ a trip away.

But I went anyway… and I’m so glad I did.

A couple of days to reset, laugh, and be around people who just get it — it reminded me why I started this in the first place.

Not for pressure.
Not for perfection.
But for choices.

Coming home feeling clearer… and quietly excited for what’s next 💚

This is exactly what I’ll be doing on Monday 💚

A relaxed cooking experience with one of my hosts and a couple of her friends.

No big “demo” energy
No pressure to buy
No complicated recipes

Just real food, a glass of something nice… and a proper play with it in a normal kitchen.

And this is the bit I love most…

👉 somewhere along the way, it just clicks

Someone realises:
“I could actually use this”
“This would make life easier”

And it all suddenly makes sense.

I’ve got room for a couple more around the bench on Monday if anyone would like to come along 💚

Just message me — happy to share the details

Tonight was one of those nights…

The kind where I really could have justified takeaway 😅

But this is exactly why I love having this in my kitchen…

👉 I didn’t stand there
👉 I didn’t think about it
👉 I didn’t juggle 5 things at once

I just started it… and sat down.

And somehow dinner still happened.

This is what I gently try to explain to people who say they’ll get one “later”…

Sometimes it’s the busy, messy seasons where this makes the biggest difference 💚

If you’ve ever wondered if you’d actually use one…
that’s the only question worth answering.

16/04/2026

“You mean it peels my potatoes… AND makes cocktails?”

I’m sold 😂

That was said tonight at a demo — and I couldn’t have summed it up better myself.

It’s not about being fancy…
it’s about making the boring bits easy, and the good bits even better 💚
