Today was a special milestone for A Little Touch of Joy Dahlia Farm.
It all started to feel like real micro flower farm with the soil delivery & working bee.
In around 3.5 hours, Sarah,Tracy, Cora, Poppa, Nanny & I moved 5 cubic meters of soil down to the new garden. We are all exhausted now but I am so grateful for all the help.
What started as a joke is now becoming a reality.

I dug some of the tubers this morning before the rain as I need to get them out now with all this rain or they may start to rot.
They have all at least doubled themselves & lots like this huge clump of west coast are just showing off!
It’s hard to believe they were all planted as single tubers in November. I estimate this one “west coast” plant would have produced about 30-40 blooms & over 20 tubers in just 7 months!

Our 2nd location is looking great. So proud of all our recycling efforts with the vine posts, pickets & bricks.
We just need the soil now to give the spring seedlings a home.
There are a lot more bits & pieces to do but the homes for the beautiful blooms is our priority at the moment.

When I started A little Touch of Joy Dahlia Farm, it was a big goal of mine to have my own Dahlias on my business cards & stickers.
& I got there in my first season!
