Sorby Adams Wines

Sorby Adams Wines Sorby Adams Wines is based on the philosophy that great wines are made in the vineyard.

Simon Sorby Adams can attest to the theory that great wines are made in the vineyard.

Throughout his 45 vintages, including 20 as Yalumba Chief Winemaker (Hill-Smith Family Estates) crafting some of the Barossa’s most prized red wines, Simon has remained true to the traditional ways of winemaking, oak and region.

Today, Simon, and his wife Jill, partner with regional growers in Australia’s

Eden Valley and Barossa Valley to make wines with elegance and power. Their use of four-year air-dried new French oak ensures red wines are also made with impeccable ageing potential.

Sustainability too sits at the heart of this family winemaker, where reducing its environmental impact includes the use of renewable energy, rainwater, light weighted glass and recycled paper labels.

Sorby Adams Wines is a family brand (Anna Louisa Sorby married Augustus Crichton Adams in the early 1800s in Hertfordshire and has been our family name ever since) and the family are proud to produce wines that showcase their heritage as well as their sense of place in the esteemed Barossa Valley.

The Barossa has been Simon ‘Sorby’ Adams’ home since 1980.

Great to be part of the Austrade '2026 Australian Premium Product Showcase' in Taiwan, connecting with buyers and partners in a market we’ve been building for the past three years, and 20+ across Asia.

A standout moment was Sorby Adams The Thing Barossa Shiraz (Barossa Top 100 Classified) featuring in the Barossa Australia Masterclass 🙌

Proud to fly the Barossa flag with Barossa Australia. Opportunities like this reinforce the strength of the Barossa marque of trust and quality, and we are proud to contribute to and collaborate within these initiatives.

Angels,

Well… this old Barossa bloke is absolutely blown away.

To see The Couch Family Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2022 land in your Top 5 rated red wines — that’s not just an accolade, it’s a real vote of confidence. And it means the world to me and the whole Sorby Adams family.

We pour everything we’ve got into these wines — long days, stubborn standards, and a deep love for what Barossa can do at its very best. Knowing it’s resonating with you makes every bit of it worthwhile.

Thank you — truly — for backing us, for trusting us, and for coming back for more. That loyalty is something we never take for granted.

We’ll keep doing what we do best: bringing you bold, honest Barossa wines with plenty of heart behind them.

Here’s to you, Angels — couldn’t do it without you.

Cheers, Sorb.

Grateful to have been part of such a well-curated China Inbound Immersion program here in the Barossa.

So valuable to connect face-to-face with such an engaged group of distributors, ecommerce players and wine influencers — and to hear first-hand what’s really resonating in the China market right now.

Excited by the conversations started and looking forward to what grows from here.

Huge thanks to Iain Langridge 毅安 and Wen Liu 刘雯 from In2Asia Export for being alongside us every step of the way — your insight and in-market perspective make all the difference as we continue building our China journey.

And to the Department of State Development South Australia and Barossa Australia — thank you for bringing together such a strong and impactful program.

Nothing we love more than seeing GUDILLY in the glass.

Because let’s be honest, once it’s poured, you’re already halfway there.

Big thanks to Primrose & Vine for welcoming Sam in to pour the good stuff at a recent tasting — the perfect way to kick off their Autumn/Winter 2026 season.

Appreciate the ongoing support. Cheers! Sorb, Angus, Digby and Sally.

We always stop time for a birthday celebration—especially when it’s for Digby Adams, our towering supreme Winery & Production Manager.

Set against a glorious autumn day in the Barossa, a lunch of champions was enjoyed: Digby's favourite Pork Bánh Mì paired perfectly with Penfield Farm Pinot Noir (made exclusively for the Angels).

And yes, donuts were involved. Happy Birthday (for yesterday!!), Digby 🥳
