Precision Pastures

Precision Pastures Precision Pastures is an independent soil, pasture and carbon agronomy service provider, servicing clients across the eastern states of Australia.

Working closely with trusted advisors we put data first and central in all that we do, to remove any bias We use the latest technology, satellite imagery and GPS soil testing equipment to assist farmers across Australia to achieve their production and soil carbon objectives. We put data first and central to all our services and back it up with direct access to our agronomists and support staff. We cater for all client types and can assist with end-to-end project services.

A good time to baseline?

So another El Nino might be coming. Yippee.

It may be a terribly bad time to buy stock, but possibly a terribly good time to measure your baseline soil carbon levels.

Why? Your baseline is the starting point for your 25 (or 100) year project. The lower the baseline soil carbon levels, the greater likelihood of increasing them and thereby generating more ACCUs.

Want to increase your farm’s value? Start from the ground up.

We often talk about production gains -- but here’s where it gets interesting…

If you lift carrying capacity (DSE/AE), you lift your farm’s value. Simple as that.

We’ve seen it firsthand. One of our clients implemented a soil carbon eligible activity and added +3 DSE/ha to their system.

When it came time for valuation? That uplift was recognised: 3 extra DSE per hectare, multiplied by the market rate per DSE, straight onto the land value.

Take that to the bank.

But here’s the thing...this “soil carbon thing” isn’t one-size-fits-all.

It starts with a conversation. Tailored to your farm, your soils, your system, working out whether it actually makes sense for you.

Better soils. Better production. Better asset value.

Curious if it stacks up on your place? Let’s start the conversation.

Don’t wait five years to find out what your soil is doing.

Soil carbon projects aren’t set and forget. They’re evolving systems and interim soil testing helps you stay on track.

It gives you real insight into how your carbon levels are trending, whether your strategy is working, and where you can adjust.

At Precision Pastures, we’re out in the paddock sampling every week, helping farmers understand what’s happening beneath their feet.

If you’re curious about what your soil is doing, reach out to our team today.

So… another El Niño might be on the way. Yippee.

It might not be the time to be buying stock…But it could be the perfect time to understand your soil.

Your baseline soil carbon is your starting point for a 25 (or even 100) year project. And here’s the opportunity -- lower starting levels often mean greater potential to build carbon over time.

That’s where the value is created. That’s where ACCUs are generated.

At Precision Pastures, we’re farmers too, so we live and breathe the reality of destocking, preserving ground cover, and working with seasonal challenges. We get it.

We help you understand exactly where you’re starting from, so you can make informed decisions, even in uncertain seasons.

Give us a call and let's get you started.

Improving soil health and building soil carbon isn’t a quick fix.

It takes targeted agronomy, grounded in good data and tailored to your farm’s specific soil constraints and opportunities.

And importantly, it’s about working with the seasons in front of you — because agriculture isn’t prescriptive. Conditions change with the seasons and your approach needs to adapt with them.

There’s no shortcut. No gaming the system.

Just consistent, well-informed decisions that improve your soils over time and the production that comes with it.

We know this because we’re farmers too. We run our own operations and understand what it takes to make these decisions stack up in the real world.

If you’re looking for a genuine, long-term approach — and a partner to help you get there — reach out to Precision Pastures.

Join us for an online webinar presenting the
final results of the MLA Producer Demonstration Site (PDS) project: Zoning up to optimise pasture production 🌱

This session will showcase how soil nutrient zoning and Variable Rate Application (VRA) can improve pasture productivity, input efficiency and profitability in grazing systems. Designed for producers, advisors and industry stakeholders, the webinar will highlight practical findings from the New England demonstration sites and discuss implications for on-farm adoption.

What’s on the agenda?
• Overview of the PDS project and key findings, including outcomes from soil testing, nutrient
zoning and VRA implementation
• Open group discussion and Q&A on lessons
learned, challenges and adoption considerations
• Guest presentation by Hamish Webb, Precision
Pastures, sharing insights into:
• Soil Organic Carbon (50C) sequestration
responses
• Links between pasture productivity, soil condition and carbon outcomes within soil carbon projects

At Precision Pastures, we work with farmers across the full journey --from understanding their soils, through to unlocking the production and carbon opportunities that sit within them.

We offer end-to-end support, including:

Soil testing and data collection
Practical agronomy advice for grazing systems
Soil carbon prospectivity assessments
Project registration and ongoing testing and management

Good decisions start with good data and are delivered through practical, on-farm application.

We’re a farmer-run business, working alongside other farmers to improve soil health, lift pasture performance and ultimately drive better production outcomes.

And increasingly, that also means helping producers identify and maximise the opportunities that come from improved soils — whether that’s more grass, more kilograms of beef, or participation in soil carbon projects.

Looking after your soil isn’t about chasing the next big thing.

It’s about getting the fundamentals right, year in, year out.

This isn’t a revolution. It’s an evolution.

And it’s what keeps productive soils performing over the long haul.

Put your soil data first and central in your production decisions. Contact our team today to learn more.
