To our valued customers and community, we are heartbroken to share what we’ve endured, and we need your support.
Prior to our unlawful lockout on 1 April 2026, Graya had not engaged in any formal negotiations, nor made any offer to acquire our lease or provide compensation for early surrender of our tenancy as a result of their proposed development.
Since Graya took ownership of our property on 1 December 2025, we have received NO updates, NO formal communication, and NO replies to our repeated emails to Shaun Mets (cc’d to [email protected]) regarding their development or demolition plans. We’ve had no idea when our business would be affected, and since February, Graya stopped sending rent invoices — but we always paid rent in full and on time, with zero lease breaches, zero missed payments, and zero default notices from them.
On 1st April at 7 AM, we arrived at our shop to find our worst nightmare:
• Our CCTV cameras were removed
• Graya unlawfully entered our premises without any notice or consent
• Back door lock was changed, front automatic door control panel was damaged, power to the entire shop was cut off
• Front door were boarded up from inside with timber nailed to the floor, destroying our flooring
• All fridges and freezers lost power, and thousands of dollars worth of perishable goods spoiled within hours — we were instantly unable to operate our business at all.
The very next day at 7 AM, Graya started demolition work on the entire property. When we called the police, a Graya staff member on site admitted the full demolition would proceed, the complex would be locked off, and we could only contact Shaun Mets to retrieve our belongings.
We’ve run this family business with all our heart for 3.5 years, and we lost everything overnight with no warning and no legal justification.
We’ve suffered massive financial losses, lost our livelihood, and endured severe emotional distress. Graya has shown complete disregard for Australian law and basic fairness.
We’ve done nothing wrong. We just want justice.
