From the Farm to the Chef’s Table!

Today our zucchini flowers featured in Matt Golinski’s “Queensland on a Plate” showcase at the Food & Hospitality Queensland event in Brisbane, alongside produce and products from other Queensland businesses.
Brenton joined Matt Golinski and Nerida McPherson Conway❤️ on stage to talk about our flowers and the work that goes into growing them. We were also lucky enough to try the finished dish, that along with our flowers featured fish from Rocky Point Aquaculture, olives from Coolmunda Olives 🍈, tomatoes from Noosa Reds, and capers from Bunya Red Farm. The flavour was incredible!

Since we first met Matt, he’s been a huge supporter of Hunt’s Harvest, cooking with our flowers, sharing them with other chefs and proudly putting our produce in front of new audiences.
Beyond the showcase, we were able to connect with customers, providores, chefs and food reviewers - putting faces to familiar names and hearing fresh perspectives on our flowers from across the industry.

Thanks, Matt, for always backing Hunt’s Harvest and showing what Queensland produce can bring to the plate.

Bigger and better in Bundy! 💪🏽

We grabbed another Bundaberg local to put these zucchini flowers into perspective!
(The rum can is just there for scale) 😅

Warm days, mild winters and plenty of Queensland sunshine give us a real growing advantage. While colder southern regions face a shorter outdoor growing season, our climate helps us produce big, beautiful zucchini flowers all year round.
Add plenty of care from us, and this is the result - generous flowers with plenty of room for your favourite filling.

What would you stuff these big beauties with? 🤤

A new look for our zucchini flower trays!

We’ve made a small change to our zucchini flower range and given each of our tray sizes its own name.

GRANDE  - 12 flowers
Our largest, most impressive flower size.
SIGNATURE  - 15 flowers
Our most popular and versatile tray size.
CLASSIC - 18 flowers
A smaller, more delicate flower size.

Each tray also has a new lid label to match, so it’s much easier to tell the different sizes apart when ordering, receiving or using them in the kitchen.
Have a look through the photos to see each of the three sizes and their new labels.

Grande | Signature | Classic

You’ll start seeing the new labels on trays heading out from the farm now.

BFVG Gala Dinner – The Growers’ Table

The Bundaberg Fruit & Vegetable Growers Gala was a great night to recognise the local horticulture industry, bringing growers, agents, suppliers and businesses from across the region together in the one room. This year the focus was very much on what Bundaberg produces, with local ingredients worked right through the menu and the growers behind that produce represented throughout the night.
It was great to share the table with Rosengal, catch up with plenty of people we work with across the industry, enjoy beautiful food, and finish the night off perfectly with the band and a few drinks!

Last week Lola attended the Greenhouse Technical Management Training Course – a Masterclass in Protected Cropping at Gatton Smart Farm.
The 4.5-day course covered everything from plant physiology, growing media and water quality through to nutrient management, fertigation, irrigation, EC & pH, greenhouse climate management and plant health.
Presented by Graeme Smith Consulting alongside industry guest speakers, the course builds higher-level technical and management skills in greenhouse and hydroponic production.

As we keep improving our greenhouse and hydroponic systems, there’s plenty in this area that we want to keep getting better at.
For Lola, it was a great opportunity to build on her practical experience and come away with a much stronger understanding of the science and management behind growing crops in protected systems!

Course Two

We supplied our Hunt’s Harvest zucchini and zucchini flowers to Chef Matt Golinski for the second course of his six-course menu at the 2026 CapRescue Degustation at Headricks Lane in Rockhampton.

Pickled zucchini and zucchini flowers with ricotta, roasted Picual olives and smoked tomato sauce. Divine!

A great way to see our produce interpreted, and a fantastic event to raise funds for CapRescue and the vital work they do across Central Queensland.

It’s one thing to pack our produce here on the farm and watch it head out the gate. It’s another to see it 1800km away in Melbourne, sitting underneath the Hunt’s Harvest name.

Our sign is now up at Rosengal, our Melbourne market agent, and seeing this photo for the first time gave us a real moment!

Basil, Zucchini Flowers, Lebanese Zucchini and Golden Squash, all grown here on our farm in Avondale to part of the daily trade at the Melbourne Markets!

We’ve put a lot into growing Hunt’s Harvest and building a name around what we grow. Seeing that name on the wall in Melbourne feels like a milestone worth marking.

Proud of our farm, our team and where our produce goes! 🌱

Growing Lebanese zucchini (kousa) and seeing our very first harvest transformed into homemade Kousa Mahshi is what makes growing produce so rewarding. 💚

A traditional Lebanese dish that’s truly a labour of love, with every zucchini carefully hollowed by hand, filled with a fragrant rice and meat mixture, then gently simmered in a rich tomato broth.

We’re so grateful to have friends who share their family traditions with us and bring our produce to life in such a special way. What a wonderful way to celebrate our first kousa harvest. 🥒🇱🇧

Meet the faces behind Hunt’s Harvest - I’m Lauren.

The thing I love most about life on the farm is all the different hats I get to wear. Between being Mum, the groundskeeper, the courier driver, attempting something that resembles marketing, sorting out the admin, packing or helping Brenton think through his next big idea, there’s always something to keep me busy!
Coming from a completely different background as a hairdresser, I’ve learnt that farming has a way of keeping you humble while teaching you something new every day. There’s still so much I don’t know, and for some reason I have a feeling there always will be.

One of the things we love about farming in the Bundaberg region is that even through winter, there’s always something growing.
