Planning a wedding and unsure what your guests will do between the church service and reception?
By the time you and your bridal party have left the wedding venue, driven to the photo location and made it to the reception it can be long wait for your guests. And you can guarantee they’ll be hungry and ready for a drink well before the reception begins!
Plus there will be those lovely wedding guests who haven’t made it onto the reception guest list, but are there to support you as you make your vows. You haven’t much time to mingle with them before you leave for photos, so how do you show them how much their attendance means to you?
An afternoon tea straight after the wedding ceremony is often the answer to these wedding dilemmas.
If your wedding service is being held in a church there’s usually a function room, courtyard or hall on site that can accommodate your guests for an hour or two. A glass of champagne, a chicken and almond sandwich, a pecan carrot cake, a ginger cheesecake, chocolate orange brownie, or blue cheese and prosciutto tartlet – just some of the beautiful menu items your guests would love to be offered!
Get some trusted friends to carry the floral arrangements from the church to the hall. With champagne glasses set out on a white table cloth, a tea/coffee table, carafes of iced water and platters of sandwich fingers and tiny desserts doing the rounds your guests won’t even notice they’re waiting for the reception to start.
