Things are full steam ahead here with preparations for the Bush Christmas Markets here at Granite Belt honey with the construction of raw honey gift boxes. These will be in very limited supply this year due to the drought.

DID YOU KNOW THIS TREE KILLS NATIVE BEES?

It may look very pretty, but it's flowers are toxic to native stingless bees.

It is the African tulip tree, and is considered to be a serious environmental w**d.

It's fast growing and it out-competes native vegetation.

Biosecurity Queensland recommends that if you have one in your garden, you can help by removing it and then treat the stumps with herbicide.

NEW PRODUCT AVAILABLE

After a successful launch last year at the Bush Christmas markets a selection of reusable wax wraps will be uploaded to the online store this week.

The wraps are made by us, using natural wax from our hives, jojoba oil, pine rosin and OTEK certified 100% cotton fabric.

All prints will be offered in limited quantities.

What to expect when you visit ...Bush Christmas is not a market with stalls. It is an enormous handmade gift shop. A few exhibitors will be here for the first couple of days but the majority cannot attend as they reside in the rural and remote areas so simply too far to travel, and far too dry to leave home this year. All works are for sale with eftpos available. We'll also have coffee and refreshments onsite so make the morning (or afternoon!) at our event!! NEXT SATURDAY is the start of our Harvest season! Visit our farm in Stanthorpe and choose your very own REAL Christmas Tree!The smell is AMAZING! Our staff will cut it down and net your tree for easy transportation! We have a Christmas Shop onsite full of beautiful Christmas decorations. If you can't make our Harvest weekend, we harvest our Christmas Trees everyday until 23rd December. However our 8ft Trees and above sell out on our Harvest Weekend :) The atmosphere is magic!

A few days ago my lovely winemaking friend Paola came to me with an idea for a t-shirt that's a little cheeky & I love an opportunity to create a new design and get printing. Then I thought, what if we make a whole range of tees from which we can donate proceeds back into the community? So today we're launching our new Save Water range where $5 from each sale will be donated to Granite Belt Drought Assist. Why am I doing this? See that behind me?
