It's a sad time for us this week as we say goodbye to our treasured gentle giant farm mascot, Dewey, who slipped away quietly in the spring grass of his paddock as he reached his 20th birthday.
Dewey joined our family when he dropped onto our property as a weanling steer and sole Santa in a small mixed herd in 2006 and sparked our interest in, and inspired our love for, the Santa Gertrudis breed with his gorgeous presence and soft, silly, gentle, sweet personality we immediately fell in love with.
We love that Dewey spent his 20 years with us always living his best life, and we hope that he's forever indulging his cheeky way of running and bucking alongside farm bikes in greener pastures.
