The Pondalowie cellar door and winery is open for tasting and sales this summer on the following days:
- Open December 27, 28, 29 and 30 from 12 pm – 5 pm and 12pm – 3pm on 31 December 2025.
- (Closed on 1 & 2 January 2026)
- Open 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 January 2026 from 12 pm – 5 pm
- (Closed 9 January 2026)
- Open 10 and 11 January 2026 from 12 pm – 5 pm
Pondalowie is a family-owned, artisan winery est. 1996. Drawing on their winemaking experiences from Australia, France and Portugal, owner-winemakers Dominic & Krystina Morris craft exceptional wines using Shiraz, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Grigio at their winery in Bambra, in the Surf Coast Hinterland.
The Pondalowie cellar door, vineyard and winery is situated in Bambra, in the beautiful Surf Coast hinterland, just an hour and a half from Melbourne along the hinterland route to Lorne and the Great Ocean Road. We can be easily located; look for the brown winery tourism sign on Deans Marsh-Winchelsea Road in Bambra, Victoria.

NEW RELEASE - 2020 SPECIAL RELEASE SHIRAZ
Our flagship wine, and from a powerhouse year for Shiraz from our Bendigo vineyards, the 2020 Special Release Shiraz is now available. Experience the wine this long weekend, by visiting our stands at the Aireys Inlet and/or Lorne Foreshore market on Saturday 1 November, or at our cellar door on Sunday 2 November.

Saturday 1 November – Aireys Inlet Market, 9am - 3pm (6 Great Ocean Road, Aireys Inlet)
Saturday 1 November – Lorne Foreshore Market, 9am - 3pm.

Sunday 2 November – Cellar Door OPEN, 12pm - 5pm, 55 Bambra School Road Bambra 3241

TASTING NOTE - 2020 Special Release Shiraz
Opulent satsuma plum, blackberry and black cherry fruits are all at play, enhanced by dark chocolate, toasty oak, and cedar spices. The concentrated fruit is evident on the front palate, with the round, youthful fruit character and fine tannins giving way to a gentle, supple finish.

The 2020 Special Release Shiraz can be enjoyed immediately, although it will develop beautifully if cellared under suitable conditions, to be enjoyed over the next 10 years or more. In the short term, we recommend decanting to enhance its complexity.

We hope the rain forecast for this long weekend materialises, providing farmers in Victoria with some respite from the ongoing drought.

Vintage 2025 – As many of you know Pondalowie wines are handmade at our winery in Bambra, in the Surf Coast hinterland, using grapes sourced from our 29-year-old vineyards at Bridgewater-on-Loddon (Bendigo), from friends’ vineyards in Heathcote and from our new Pinot Noir vineyard at Bambra.
With vintage now finished, we’ll take a moment to reflect and share some images from the season with you over the coming days.
We are also looking forward to opening our cellar door and winery this Easter. Open for tasting and sales 12pm – 5pm on Good Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Excited to be presenting our wines at several Surf Coast markets this summer:
- Every Friday throughout January we’re serving wines by the glass at the Anglesea Twilight Market, from 4:30 to 8:00 at 5 McMillan St, Anglesea
- On Sunday 5, 12 and 26th January find us at the Aireys Inlet Market 9am-1pm and on
- Saturday 25th January - the Australia Day long weekend, we’ll be on the beautiful Lorne Foreshore from 9am - 3pm.

The growing season is progressing well, and there’s an abundance of these lovely helpers in the vineyard at the moment. We believe these are the Spotted Amber Ladybird, also known as the White Collared Ladybird (𝘏𝘪𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘥𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘢 𝘷𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘨𝘢𝘵𝘢), and we’re glad to have them as they are predacious to many species of aphid and are known to eat insect eggs and thrips.
We’ll take a break from vineyard work to showcase our wines and offer some Christmas Specials at the tomorrow, Sunday 15 December. Look forward to seeing you there!

The is one of the largest one-day agricultural shows between Geelong and Mt Gambier. The Show boasts an amazing variety of exhibitors, children's entertainment, music, trade displays and food and is a showcase for regional livestock, working dogs and horses, providing an array of entertainment for the whole family!
Held at the Noorat Recreation Reserve in the shadows of Mt Noorat, an old volcano, in south western Victoria, not far from Camperdown, Terang and Mortlake, and only 40 minutes from Warrnambool. It’s the perfect venue for a great day out!

Our cellar door is open this Melbourne Cup Weekend, on Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 November for tastings and sales from 12 pm to 5 pm.
We are also pleased to be presenting our wines at the Lorne Markets Foreshore Market on Saturday 2 November, 9am - 3pm. Adjacent to the beautiful Lorne beach on Mountjoy Parade, it's a wonderful market and worth a visit if you’re on the Surf Coast this weekend.
