The 2025 1314 Pinot Noir is here and it’s impressing.

Beautifully captured by Campbell Mattinson (The Winefront), who gave it 93 points and summed it up best: “Such a pleasure… 100% yes to this. This wine has Bannockburn written all over it.”

Sourced from a blend of vineyard sites across our property, planted between 1976 and 2004, this vintage is all about charm and drinkability. Indigenous ferment, 15% whole bunch and seven months in French oak hogsheads.

Expect raspberries, cherries, brambly fruits, lifted florals, fine tannins and a long, elegant finish. It’s layered, expressive and punching well above its weight.

The Winery Block has long been central to Bannockburn Chardonnay. While our story with this variety began with the 1976 plantings, it was this block, planted in 1981 alongside the winery, that helped define the style. Planted to P58 clone, it became a reference point and, in many ways, sits at the heart of our Chardonnay identity. A steady, reliable expression of site.

Bottled as its own expression for the first time in 2024 as part of our 50th year, it’s exciting to introduce a new wine to the range, particularly one with this history. On release, it felt like the most open and complete of our single vineyard Chardonnays. The 2024 Winery Block is classic Bannockburn. Bright acidity, fleshy fruit flavour, natural balance, with most of the fruit from the first pick in a warmer season. Pure and precise, a gentle hint of struck match, and a fine texture that carries through.

Delicious to taste but layered in its storytelling. A clear expression of clone, site and season - grounded and true to place.

Available on the website store now and via Bibendum Wine Co for trade. $90.

We’re delighted to share Philip Rich’s glowing 97-point review of our newly released 2025 Riesling, published in the Halliday Wine Companion. We always value Philip’s insights, and his notes reflect our own excitement about this wine. From our perspective, this is the best Riesling we’ve made and is a great credit to the team.

It is crafted predominantly from vines planted in 1976 at Olive Tree Hill. These old vines bring depth and clarity to the wine, allowing the complexity of our limestone clay soils and the unique character of the site to shine through the lens of Riesling.

97 points. ‘Made mainly from 0.4ha of vines planted in 1976. A light, bright green gold. A delicate and complex bouquet of just-picked white peach, grapefruit, lemongrass and flowers. The palate is just as delicate and vibrant, finishing dry and very long. The balance of fruit and acidity is nigh on perfect. A gorgeous wine from go to whoa!’ Philip Rich, winecompanion.com.au.

Available on the website store now. $37.

We’re honoured to be named at number 24 in the 2025 Halliday Wine Companion Top 100 Wineries.

A wonderful acknowledgement, having just celebrated 50 years, and a reflection of the collective effort across the vineyard and winery.

As featured in the publication:

“Each epoch has been defined by its winemaking steward, with Matt a quietly considered shepherd, making some of the best wines to come off this revered site. Much of that he humbly puts down to improved soil and vine health under the direction of Lucas Grigsby and Doug Clarke, with the former almost four decades into his role. The close-planted blocks are all certified organic, with the rest in conversion and an even denser plot of pinot noir in the planning. No doubt it is the collaborative effort responsible for this marquee estate being in the shape of its life on its 50th anniversary. The wines are still stamped with the Bannockburn DNA, but there is a finesse, refinement and pitch-perfect balance that is the hallmark of Matt’s tenure.”

Grateful to our wonderful customers, supporters, and the brilliant staff in our team who make Bannockburn Vineyards what it is.

🌱 In vineyard news…

We’ve just completed an exciting round of new plantings: a high-density 10,000+ v/ha Pinot Noir block, planted with massale selection cuttings from some of our oldest vines, as well as a new addition to the mix — Aligoté, a variety with a rich Burgundian heritage and an exciting future here at Bannockburn

These plantings reflect our ongoing focus on site expression, and we can’t wait to see how they evolve in the years ahead.

A huge thank you to our hardworking team for bringing it all to life. 🙌🍇✨
