The liquid is a masterclass in patience. Crafted from Agaves left to grow wild for up to 25 years, it is distilled in traditional clay pots by legendary master mezcaleros like Félix Ángeles Arellanes in Santa Catarina Minas. Fourteen years ago, we founded Mextrade with a simple mission: to bring the true, unadulterated soul of Mexico to Australia. We’ve been tasted some incredible spirits along the way, but last November, sitting at the Cascahuin distillery for their 70th anniversary, something special was poured,a glass of the **Cascahuin 55-25 Limited Edition.

One sip, and we were tasting history, family, and absolute mastery of the craft. and the Cascahuin family haven’t just made a spirit here—they’ve bottled time and craft. At 44% ABV, it is a masterclass in balance, traditional brick-oven cooking, outstanding barrel blending and the deep agave flavor that defines the Rosales legacy. We knew right then and there that we couldn’t leave Mexico without securing this for our community back home.

You will move from the historic Tequila distilleries of the highlands to the wild, untamed Mezcal frontiers of Durango and Oaxaca. “I’m incredibly excited to join the Mextrade Spirits team! My journey has taken me from private lodges in New Zealand to winemaking, and most recently into distilling whisky, gin, and vodka at the Cardrona Distillery.

Now, I’m proud to step into the world of Agave spirits; celebrating the depth, tradition, and artistry behind Mexico’s iconic spirits. At Mextrade, my goal is to build strong relationships and help grow both education and appreciation for these exceptional spirits across NSW.
