A total of $5,925 raised, with 100% of funds going directly towards running hay to the communities affected by the Longwood fires.

A huge congratulations and heartfelt thank you to our winning bidders Naomi Smith Higgs and Leanne Sunderland for your incredibly generous bids.

Thank you as well to everyone who participated, shared, bid, and supported this cause. The community spirit has been truly overwhelming.

And a very special mention to the incredibly generous Dennis & Nicole Johnson from Gobur, who donated the steer for this auction – even while facing hardship themselves. Your kindness and selflessness embody what community spirit is all about.

We have a grass fed angus beast, that had been hanging since before the fires, fully butchered and packed, to be auctioned in two halves with 100% of proceeds going to the hay running effort to help supply much-needed hay to communities affected by the Longwood fires.

This beast has been kindly donated by Dennis & Nicole Johnson of Gobur, who have tragically lost their farm in this catastrophic event.

Lamb, we all love lamb....

Toland Poll Merino have been working hard on their Merino meat eating qualities. They aim to breed early maturing sheep that grow quickly, have intramuscular fat (marbling similar to Wagyu beef) and eating qualities often associated with other breeds. This has allowed them to sell their wether lambs in a short turn around from hitting the feedlot, with exceptional characteristics such as high yielding carcases and marbling rarely seen in Merinos.
I had the pleasure of cutting up lambs for Toland Poll Merino stud a couple of weeks ago, speaking to Anna and Simon who work really hard on improving their breeding.
