We are starting to work the cover crops in this week, ready for corn planting to begin in just a couple of weeks! The oats have done a great job of filling the soil with nutrients and oxygen to give the corn seeds the best possible start to life! 🌽

The corn harvester in action. 🌽

The whole plant gets cut off at ground level, gets pulled through rollers which send the corn cob into the bin and the rest of the plant back on the ground. It’s crazy to think we used to harvest by hand not all that long ago! Now these machines do all the hard work for us, 5-6 nights a week, 8 months of the year. A big shout out to our team of dedicated machine operators. 💪
