We had a great weekend at the 2026 Bathurst Show, with Fosterfield coming away with some fantastic results. Seven 1st places, five 2nds and four 3rds, topped off with the award for Most Successful Merino Wool Exhibitor. A really pleasing outcome and a terrific showcase of the quality local wool on display.

Fosterfield achieved outstanding results at the Blayney Show last weekend. We received First and Second place in the fine wool ewe fleece category, along with a First place for a fine wool ram fleece. Our fine wool ewe fleece then went on to be awarded the Champion Merino Fleece ribbon — a fantastic result.

The local show season is underway, and Fosterfield achieved some excellent results at the Sofala Show over the weekend. We were awarded first place for our superfine, fine, and medium wool ewe fleeces, as well as for a fine wool ram fleece. We also secured second place in the medium wool hogget fleece category. Our fine wool fleece went on to win both the Champion Merino Fleece and Grand Champion Fleece ribbons — a very pleasing outcome.

Merry Christmas from all of us at Fosterfield!
As we wrap up 2025 and head into 2026, we’re looking back on a big year—lots of hard work, great results at the ram sale, and some wins at local wool shows.
A huge thank you to everyone who’s supported us and to the amazing family crew who help to keep things running.
We hope you get the chance to kick back, relax, and enjoy time with family and friends over the holidays. Here’s to another great year ahead—cheers!

Fosterfield held its 23rd on-farm ram sale on Sunday - we sold 29 of 44 Merino rams - a top price of $2700 – with an average of $1215 - a pretty good result. We had a good crowd of new and return buyers. Of special note, we offered lot 2 – as a charity ram - with the proceeds to go to prostate and breast cancer research, that was sold for $2600 (giving us a total of $5500 to this charity over the past 4 years)– we had a good day and it was great to catch up with everyone. Many thanks to all the helpers on the day - your support and assistance is greatly appreciated.

We had a good crowd of people drop in for a look at our open day on Sunday - all were supportive and provided encouraging comments on the presentation of the rams - even the youngest of the critics were impressed (thanks Olly) - a reminder, our sale is on Sunday 19th October - inspection from 10am, sale starts at 12noon

We will have 44 Merino rams on offer, 12mth old (October 2024 drop) - paddock reared, Poll and some Horn Merino rams.
