🪩 WHAT. A. MORNING! 🫧✨

Our very first River Rave Kids Party was everything we hoped it would be - and more!

There were bubbles, dancing, a smoke machine, sparkles, plenty of little smiling faces… and just as many big ones. ❤️

One of our favourite things about today was looking around and seeing not only how much fun the kids were having, but the smiles on the faces of the parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and carers too. There was just something a little bit magical about it.

Days like today are such a beautiful reminder of what makes our community special - coming together, having fun and creating those little moments of joy and belonging.

We’re getting VERY excited for our first Saturday morning kids dance party — and we’ve got a couple of little extras to share before tomorrow!

🍽️ We’re Growing Our Kitchen Team! 🍽️

The Bathurst River Café is looking for two new team members to join our kitchen as we continue to grow.

👨‍🍳 Position 1 – Full-Time Sous Chef

We’re looking for an experienced cook or chef who is passionate about producing beautiful café food in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

You’ll work alongside our Head Chef, helping us continue to build one of Bathurst’s most unique café experiences.

🥣 Position 2 – Kitchen Hand / Trainee Cook (Approx. 20 Hours per Week)

This role would be perfect for:
• A recent school leaver with an interest in food.
• Someone looking to begin a career in hospitality.
• A kitchen hand wanting to develop their cooking skills.

You’ll work closely with our kitchen team, learning food preparation, service and kitchen operations. As we move into the warmer months and business grows, there is potential for increased hours and career progression for the right person.

✨ We’re looking for people who:
• Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Enjoy working as part of a team.
• Take pride in producing quality food.
• Want to learn and grow.

A couple of weeks ago I asked a simple question...

𝐒𝐨… 𝐈’𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚.💡

As the mum of a very energetic 4½-year-old, I feel like Bathurst could do with more fun things for little kids to do that are simple, joyful, and deliver reliable midday naps 😂

So I’m thinking…

🎉 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐢𝐝𝐬 𝐑𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐟𝐞

Picture this…

🪩 Disco lights
🎶 Great music
💃 A dance floor full of little legends burning off some energy
☕ Coffee for the grown-ups
🥐 Breakfast while the kids have the time of their lives.

I’m thinking we’d start with 0–5 year olds from 9–10am on a Saturday morning, and if everyone loves it, maybe we’d add sessions for older kids too.

But before I go buying disco balls… 😂
