Wallara became proud custodian of Sages Cottage Farm in December 2013 and throughout 2014 worked tirelessly with a team of local volunteers to restore the property to its former glory. Today it is a tranquil place with heritage protected buildings, a picturesque lake, conservation bushland area, manicured gardens, a beautiful old barn and the original cottage which dates back to the 1850s. The Bar
n has been restored and is now open to the public daily from 8am to 4pm trading as Sages Cafe. Local schools now come through the property to learn about their local history, the conservation of our land and the care of animals and art groups and other community groups have made the property their base. In early 2015, Sages Cottage became a place for Wallara service users to gain valuable work experience assisting with the maintenance of the gardens and looking after the many animals that now enjoy their retirement in these beautiful surroundings. It is estimated that during 2022, over 10,000 people will visit the property and enjoy and benefit from all that Sages Cottage Farm has to offer. To continue our work we are inviting individuals and organisations to be part of our ‘Friendraiser’ campaign and become a member of Sages Cottage Farm’s Circle of Friends.
