Big day getting our IVF program finished up.

We’ve implanted embryos into 17 recipient cows using two donors we’re really excited about.

Waringle Miss Hottie (our $20k purchase last year) has been joined to Glenlands D Dempsey — the $200k bull whose sons have averaged $80k at the Glenlands Bull Sale.

We’ve also used Waringle Naomi joined to Glenlands Quartermaster.

A fair bit of planning has gone into these matings and we’re looking forward to seeing what these genetics can do in our herd. Hopefully it helps build a strong foundation for the years ahead.

Now the wait begins.

Well… they’re here!

Our very first stud calf drop has officially hit the ground 🙌

We’re pretty chuffed with this little crew — strong, healthy and already acting like they own the paddock.

Exciting milestone on the farm today — carried out our very first AI program with three for our girls thanks to Caroline Allardyce!

After plenty of preparation, planning, and learning, it’s rewarding to finally put it all into practice. Artificial insemination offers a great opportunity to introduce high-quality genetics and continue improving the herd for the future.

Glenlands Imparja

Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly — looking forward to seeing the results in a few months’ time!

🐮 Timely reminder as calving season kicks off in the North!

The CalfWatch project uncovered a hidden cause of calf loss in northern herds - bottle teats right after calving.

They were the leading cause of calf loss, responsible for calf deaths in 5-6% of all pregnancies.

The tricky part? Many cows looked “normal” just weeks later, so the problem often goes unnoticed at muster.

⚠️ And here’s the kicker: the trait is heritable so keeping cows with bottle teats can lead to daughters with the same issue. That’s an ongoing hit to fertility and herd productivity.

🔍 As calving starts, keep an eye out:
✔ Check udders right after calving - that’s when bottle teats show.
✔ Record and manage affected cows early.
✔ Breaking the cycle now protects your next generation.

A quick look could save a lot of calves this season and the next! 👀

Very exciting times! Over the moon to be given the opportunity to be able to purchase a heifer of this quality. Thanks to Paul and Sian who are always a pleasure to deal with.

This heifer will have full brothers for sale at the 2026 Droughtmaster National Bull Sale

Waringle Miss Hottie (IVF)(PH)(AI)D5

The name says it all. A standout heifer from the moment she arrived. By Mungalla 4076 (Sire Billabong Hendrix) out of our top donor cow Waringle Style (Sire: Glenlands D Rambo), Miss Hottie was selected by John Ryan (Stanmore Livestock) at 10 weeks of age to spearhead his embryo/IVF program.

With a deposit of $5000 and a balance of $15,000 upon weaning; this heifer represents 5 generations of elite embryo/IVF program breeding spanning 30 years.

Her genetics contain many of the great names within the Droughtmaster breed. Full parental verification. Pompes, Pesti, Myostatin negative.

We wish John every success with his selection.
