Today was a very sad day for the Sapphire Community Pantry, when we said our final goodbye to Rod Bambach, this morning at the Wolumla Crematorium.
A rain soaked day,
Rod would've loved knowing how nourishing and restoring it will be for the earth.
It feels like a fitting tribute to say farewell to Rod.
During his time volunteering at the Pantry, Rod was quietly calm and always happy to help out.
A very sweet natured, humble and quiet man. He was one of nature's finest gentlemen.
Rod grew the most amazing produce and would happily donate some of the biggest onions I've ever seen!
Always ready with a smile and a little chuckle, I would ask Rod about his daily swim in the ocean at Tathra, shake my head in awe at his tenacity to go in the ocean everyday, no matter what the weather!
We will certainly miss your smiling face at the Pantry, Rod.
It was an absolute pleasure to get to know Rod in his last few years; selflessly volunteering his time for the good of the community, at the Tathra Community Gardens and luckily for us, at the Sapphire Community Pantry.
Sending Rod's family and friends all the love, light and strength, grieving through this incredibly difficult time.
Vale Rod Bambach
