Celebrating the life and legacy of Bruno Siketa

Tomorrow, Saturday 29 August, would have been the birthday of our founder, Bruno Siketa. Today and tomorrow, we’re taking the opportunity to remember and celebrate the man who started Siketa Meats and laid the foundations for our family business.

We were very lucky to welcome a special visitor into the store today — Bruno’s beautiful wife, Laura, who joined us to mark the occasion.

Laura also had the opportunity to meet and have a photo with our 100th customer of the day, who was lucky enough to receive a Siketa Meats tray of cevapi.

And we’re not stopping there.

Every 50th customer through our doors today and tomorrow will receive a tray of cevapi on us.

So if you’re coming in tomorrow, keep an eye out — you could be our next lucky customer.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our family business and be part of Bruno’s legacy.

From Geelong to Argentina 🇦🇷🥩

For Boris, butchering has always been about more than just great meat—it’s about family, community and sharing a passion for good food.

Born and raised in the USA to a Russian family, with Argentine roots through his dad, Boris has always been surrounded by different cultures, traditions and incredible food. His father is the Russian Orthodox priest in Bell Park, and growing up in that environment has given him a real appreciation for connecting with people from all walks of life.

Earlier this year, he travelled to Argentina with his wife to visit family, experience authentic asado, explore traditional butcher shops and learn about the unique South American cuts that have made Argentine beef world renowned.

The trip became even more meaningful when, just a few weeks after returning home, his beloved baba passed away. He’s incredibly grateful they had the chance to spend that special time together.

Back home in Geelong, you’ll find Boris behind the counter, helping customers discover something new for dinner. Whether it’s recommending the perfect cut, sharing a recipe or chatting all things cooking, his favourite part of the job is seeing people leave inspired and excited to get in the kitchen.
