Winter in the vineyard.

Right now the vines are dormant and being pruned back to prepare for the next growing season. While they may look bare, the vine is storing energy ready to burst back to life in spring with fresh shoots, leaves and fruit.

This is an 40 year old Chardonnay vine with a huge head crown that has grown another cane aka a water shoot from the base which will continue grow and produce some amazing fruit.

Every cut helps shape the season ahead — quality grapes start here.

Don't forget Kilgour Wines are open 11-5 this weekend.

This Saturday at Kilgour Wines we’re keeping things beautifully simple…

Wine flowing from 11–5pm, gourmet platters ready to share, the wood fire crackling and (if the forecast behaves itself) sunshine pouring across the vineyard.

A gentle reminder that winter on the Bellarine is best enjoyed with a glass in hand and nowhere urgent to be.

Come see the beautiful colours of the Bellarine as the vines show their Autumn colours. Wine tastings available all day.
