Couple days ago I found a swarm in the backyard but had been a little too busy to be able to catch them. Today however I noticed they were still there so I decided to catch the swarm and relocate them to the Langstroth box I brought last year. Never used this bee box before so will be interesting to see if they stay and how the bee box works compared to your typical bee boxes. Also did a hive check on my original bees, whom weren’t overly impressed with me annoying them again.

5.5kg from 3 frames today. The bees 🐝 are working hard!! Hopefully not long and I can do a full honey box extraction.

Yesterday mum rang to inform me of a swarm of bees in her orchard… this morning we caught the swarm and hoping they stay in their new box. A check of her older hive as well. I coped a bee sting to the hand and mum got one on her face! All in all a good day despite the stings 🐝🍯

Sorry been MIA but here is lambs 6,7 & 8. Lamb #8 (Sally) was born to a 1st time mum so there’s been some milk complications. She’s currently living in the maternity ward being fed a lot of supplements to help promote her milk flow. Little Sally in the meantime is smashing down her bottle feeds and waiting patiently to get back to her playmates.

I’ve been getting back into pressure canning food. Most days I get so busy I don’t have time or can’t be bothered cooking. Some days I have big cook ups but find a lot of the food gets wasted. Now I can have a massive cook up and leave the jars in the cupboard for the days I’m just too busy to cook. Open it up, heat it up and nice hearty meal ready to go. Some canned spaghetti bol up next.

Today I visited Jonai Farm! The place where I get my monthly CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) pork packs from. Today Tammi was teaching us all about micro abitores. I love to learn new things and the other day I decided I wanted to learn to make blankets. Yesterday I ventured into Lincraft and brought some yarn and after a couple trail goes I finished off a blanket this evening. So stoked with how it turned out. Will definitely be making more.
